Who are we?
We are HISBE Food and we think a great shift is needed in the way people shop for food, to tackle the problems of waste, climate change, factory farming, throwaway plastic, over-processing and exploitation. Because right now, all this just isn’t sustainable. So, in 2013 we opened our first store, in Brighton, to prove that supermarkets can be part of the solution instead of part of the problem: they just need to evolve.
What do we sell?
We sell everyday food and groceries, but not the big brands. Instead we work with local and independent suppliers who share our values. We favour local and seasonal produce, regenerative farms and high welfare standards. We minimise food waste, maximise recycling and reduce packaging. We put the best options we can find under one roof, in order to make good food accessible and affordable for everyday supermarket shoppers.
Why are we Ethicul?
Because we hacked supermarkets, to make them fit for the 21st century! We are reinventing way supermarkets do business, in order to transform the food industry and create a sustainable future for British food and farming.
